Screening crypto deposits and payouts with your own KYT provider

Connect your own Elliptic, Chainalysis, Blockaid or Webacy account: Valtu screens payout destinations before signing and deposit senders as deposits arrive, and holds risky ones for your team.

The Valtu team

Know Your Transaction (KYT) screening checks the addresses money comes from and goes to against risk data: sanctions, mixers, stolen funds and the like. Valtu lets you use your own screening provider rather than ours.

Bring your own provider

Connect an account with Elliptic, Chainalysis, Blockaid or Webacy in the dashboard. Your key is sealed, and the results are yours under your own contract with the provider. Then choose:

  • what to screen: payouts, deposits, or both;
  • your threshold: the risk level at which something is held;
  • the fallback: what happens when the provider can't answer, either freeze (the default: hold it for review) or allow.

Payouts

A payout's destination is screened before the payout is signed. If it's at or above your threshold, the payout is held: nothing is signed until a member of your team releases it or rejects it.

Deposits

A deposit's sender is screened when the deposit is recorded, and the deposit carries its screening status (screening on the deposit object). If it's held, Valtu neither sweeps nor sends that coin from that wallet until your team releases or rejects it. Check the screening status before you credit a customer, so a held deposit waits for the same decision.

Why your own provider

  • Your compliance program, your vendor. Many teams already have a screening contract and policies built around it.
  • Coverage matches your needs. Providers differ by network and by the risk categories they report.
  • No black box. You see the provider's own verdict and can audit it with them.

Screening is one control among several. Combine it with approval policies for large payouts and your own customer due diligence.
