Network fees

TRON bandwidth

The Tron resource that pays for a transaction's size in bytes; every account gets a small free daily allowance, and beyond it TRX is burned.

Every Tron transaction uses bandwidth in proportion to its size. Each account gets a small free allowance every day, which covers a few plain TRX transfers. Beyond that, bandwidth comes from staked TRX, or the network burns TRX to pay for it.

Bandwidth is usually the smaller part of the cost. For TRC-20 transfers, energy dominates. But a busy address that sends many transactions a day uses up its free bandwidth quickly, and then each transaction burns a little TRX.

Budgeting for Tron

  • Treat a USDT transfer's cost as energy plus a little bandwidth.
  • Keep some TRX in the address that sends, or in a gas wallet that tops it up.
  • Compare renting energy with burning TRX from time to time; the cheaper option moves with the market.

On Valtu

Tron payouts and sweeps are funded from your gas wallet's TRX, with energy rented through your own provider key when that's cheaper. The Tron page lists the coins supported.
