Payment link
Also called: Hosted checkout, Crypto checkout
A hosted page that asks for one specific amount: the payer picks a coin and network, pays to a fresh address, and the merchant is told whether it was paid, underpaid or expired.
A payment link turns a crypto payment into something like a card checkout: a known amount, a page the payer opens, and a clear outcome. The payer doesn't need an account with you, and you don't need to build the payment screen.
What a good checkout handles for you:
- Showing the network name next to the address and amount, so the payer sends on the right network.
- A fresh address for each payment, so matching is automatic.
- Underpayments, overpayments and late payments.
On Valtu
Create a payment link for a USD amount with your own externalId, and send the payer to its URL. The payer chooses a coin and network, sees the matching address, and pays. Valtu follows the payment to completed, or reports it as underpaid or expired, by signed webhook. For balances and top-ups, a permanent deposit address suits better.
