Sweep
Also called: Deposit sweep, Fund consolidation
Moving confirmed deposits from many customer addresses into one wallet the business controls, an internal move that doesn't change what the customer is owed.
A sweep collects funds that customers sent to their own deposit addresses into a treasury or payout wallet. It's bookkeeping on the chain: your customer's balance in your system stays the same, only where the coins sit changes.
Sweeping well means:
- Sweeping only what's worth moving. A sweep pays a network fee, so tiny balances (dust) wait.
- Paying the fee. An address holding only USDT can't pay its own gas, so a gas wallet tops it up first.
- Not colliding with payouts that need the same funds.
On Valtu
A sweep task names which wallets to sweep, where to, which coins, how often (every 5, 15 or 60 minutes, every 6 hours, or daily) and a minimum USD value. Each run queues one sweep per wallet and coin worth moving, through the same signing pipeline as payouts. Sweeps don't wait for approvals, because the funds stay in your workspace, and each appears as a transfer of kind SWEEP. A wallet with a payout waiting isn't swept on that network until the payout is done. On Tron, energy can be rented instead of burning TRX; on Bitcoin, the fee comes from the coins being moved.
