Wallet-as-a-service
Also called: WaaS, Wallet infrastructure
An API and dashboard that give a business wallets, deposits, payouts and key management for many customers, without running its own nodes and key storage.
Wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) providers run the hard parts of holding digital assets for a business: key storage and signing, a connection to each network, deposit detection, fee handling and payouts. The business builds its product on top through an API.
What separates providers:
- Custody model: custodial, MPC, or keys you hold yourself.
- Control: whether your rules or the provider's decide what's signed.
- Networks and coins supported, and how finality is handled on each.
- Operations: gas, sweeps, webhooks, status page, support.
- Evidence: audits, attestations, a published list of what isn't done.
